Canplats Resources Corporation

LOCATION
The Rodeo gold prospect is located approximately 150 kilometers north of Durango, Mexico in the central Mexican silver belt that has produced more than 5.8 million ounces of gold and 3.3 billion ounces of silver. It is comprised of two mineral claims covering an area of 13,099.26 hectares (51 square miles). The property is accessed by paved highway.

GEOLOGY
The Rodeo property is located along a major northwest-trending fault system, which places volcanic rocks against limestones and shales. It is believed to represent the upper levels of a precious metal-bearing epithermal system with bulk tonnage potential at surface.

The greatest potential is for the discovery of bonanza Au-Ag-Cu-Zn-Pb veins, replacement and mantos ore shoots at depth, for which Mexico is historically famous.

PREVIOUS WORK
The Rodeo prospect was explored in the 1990's by Monarch Resources de Mexico, S.A. de C.V., whose objective was to locate near-surface, bulk tonnage gold mineralization. Monarch completed extensive mapping, selective and grid rock chip sampling, and reverse circulation drilling. Sampling demonstrated highly anomalous disseminated and vein-controlled values in gold, silver, arsenic, antimony and mercury. Strong geochemical anomalies were noted in multiple target areas over significant lengths and widths.

DRILLING RESULTS
Results from the holes drilled in the West Vein Swarm completed in February 2004 confirm the presence of gold mineralization over significant intervals near surface. Reverse circulation drilling tested approximately 130 meters of strike length over the West Vein Swarm, which has been mapped over a strike length of two kilometers. The best results to date are in hole BR-6, which intersected 5.94 grams of gold per tonne over 27 meters (0.17 ounces of gold per ton over 88.6 feet) including 7.90 grams of gold per tonne over 16 meters (0.23 ounces of gold per ton over 52.5 feet).

A second drilling program in 2007 was successful in intersecting anomalous gold values over significant intervals. Hole BRD-002 intersected 0.23 grams of gold and 8.68 grams of silver per tonne over 103.1 meters while BRD-004 intersected 0.24 grams of gold and 1.32 grams of silver per tonne over 36.3 meters. Drilling did not intersect significant gold values beneath the high-grade, near-surface vein system that was tested in earlier programs. The company has no immediate plans for further work on the property.
