Camino Rojo is a new gold and polymetallic discovery and is the focus of Canplats' exploration efforts. The 340,000 hectare (1,300 square mile) Camino Rojo project is wholly-owned by Canplats and is located in an area of excellent infrastructure, 50 kilometers to the southeast of Goldcorp's Penasquito mine. Camino Rojo has returned drill intercepts up to 224 meters averaging 1.50 grams gold per tonne, 24.45 grams silver per tonne, 0.57% lead, and 0.53% zinc. Four drill rigs are currently in operation at the Camino Rojo project; two reverse circulation drills are focused on extending and delineating the oxide mineralization, while two diamond drills are targeting mineralization at depth. In addition, a property-wide exploration program is planned to outline additional targets in adjacent, overburden covered areas.
