 LOCATION Wholly-owned by Canplats, Camino Rojo is over 340,000 hectares (1,300 square miles) in size and is located in northeast Zacatecas State, approximately 50km southeast of Goldcorp Inc.'s Penasquito mine. GEOLOGY The property is underlain by sub-horizontal, calcareous siltstones and sandstones of the Caracol Formation. Most of the claim area is covered by overburden, however, several small volcanic centers are located along a structural lineament 8 to 10 kilometers southeast from the Represa Zone. The Represa Zone's mineralization starts at surface and consists of a widespread system of gold, silver and base metal mineralization. It is hosted by siltstones and sandstones which are bleached, iron-stained and locally brecciated, silicified and cut by quartz veinlets. The area is generally covered with overburden ranging from 0.25 meters to in excess of ten meters in thickness. The Represa Zone was defined by an extensive backhoe test pitting program and remains open to the east and south where test pitting could not reach bedrock. Oxide mineralization starts at surface, with many holes terminating in strong mineralization. A total of four drill rigs are currently in operation, with two reverse circulation drills focused on extending and delineating the oxide mineralization, and two diamond drills targeting sulphide mineralization at depth. PLANS In addition to the ongoing RC drill program, focused on extending and delineating the oxide mineralization, diamond drilling will target sulphide mineralization beneath the widespread oxide gold-silver-lead-zinc mineralization that has been intersected by RC drill holes to date. Induced polarization (IP) surveys have been expanded to outline potential extensions to known mineralization and new targets in adjacent areas. A reconnaissance-style geophysical and geochemical program is also being designed to identify additional priority target areas within the 340,000 hectare (1,340 square mile), mostly overburden-covered property.
